About

Leik is an independent, design-driven apparel brand based in San Francisco, California. Tapping into our pre Y2K roots—we use hand drawn elements and analog print techniques to create unique high-quality, heavyweight graphic tees, sweatshirts, and hats that celebrate our love for the outdoors. Every piece is printed on-demand, with proceeds actively supporting public land conservation and outdoor accessibility.

Leik is a reaction to our hyper-digital world. We’re constantly connected to everything happening everywhere, yet completely missing out on what’s right in front of us. We want to encourage the opposite.

Not every experience needs to be turned into performance, recreation doesn’t need to be a competition.

We’re here for the moments that can’t—and shouldn’t—be broadcasted. Make something. Go somewhere. Ride a bike. Get dirty. Meet your friends. Look at a flower without photographing it. All while wearing clothes. Clothes that make you feel as good as you look. Because proceeds of every sale ensures that more people can enjoy the outdoors.

How We Make Things

We could make more money if we printed overseas in bulk, but that would mean kicking Mother Nature when she’s already down. Instead, we take a different approach—one garment at a time.

Every piece is custom-printed on demand in the US, so nothing is mass-produced or sitting in a warehouse. It might take about a week to get your order printed, packed, and out the door, but we believe good things take time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Leik" mean?
It comes from an Norse old word meaning "play." But we pronounce it "like" as a jab at that aforementioned digital world.

Who is behind the brand?
I’m Ryan Henbest, a designer living in San Francisco. This brand is my way of turning a love of punk flyers, 8-bit art, and scientific illustrations into something you actually want to wear.

How does Leik support the environment?
Proceeds from our gear benefit organizations working to protect wild places and public lands so more people can get outside.
